Subclass 300 – Prospective Marriage Visa

The requirements for the 300 visa are:
The Koreanapplicant and their Australian partner must be aged 18 or over.
Couple must be engaged and intend to marry within 9 months of the Koreanapplicant’s arrival in Australia
The couple must have met in person and be in a ‘genuine and continuing’ relationship
The Australian partner must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
The Korean applicant must meet health and character requirements
The Australian partner must provide a sponsorship undertaking for their Korean partner
Subclass 309 – Partner (Provisional) Visa
This is a provisional visa that allows the Korean partner of an Australian citizen or permanent resident to live in Australia while they wait for a decision on their permanent partner visa. The partner must be outside of Australia (either in South Korea or elsewhere) when they apply for this visa, but can enter Australia as soon as the visa is granted. Once in Australia, the Korean applicant will have to apply for a permanent visa (subclass 100 or subclass 801) once they are eligible.
